SELECTED PROJECTS

Waterside Magic - Lilliput, Poole, Dorset

A tired, sunken Italian garden transformed into sweeping, connected spaces that flow naturally towards the water. Curved Millboard decking and frameless glass open the garden to uninterrupted views across Poole Harbour towards Brownsea Island.

Rainwater is harvested and fed back into the irrigation system, supporting drought-tolerant planting through the driest summers. Reclaimed scaffold boards have been weathered and repurposed to clad the boathouse, while integrated lighting and a sound system run throughout the garden.

A garden designed around its setting rather than imposed upon it — connected to the water, resilient to the elements and made to be lived in.

Julia’s House - The Dorset Children’s Hospice

A wonderful garden for us to have been involved with, designed around the children and families who use it. A boardwalk winds through the trees, with sensory planting chosen for touch and scent, wind chimes, secluded seating areas and spaces for play.

Swings and sunken trampolines were designed to be enjoyed by children using wheelchairs, creating a garden where everyone can experience the simple pleasure of being outside together.

Built in partnership with Greenfingers Charity, whose work creating accessible gardens for children’s hospices is very close to the heart of Sea Glass Zero.

Swimming Pool - Wimborne, Dorset

An above-ground swimming pool designed to sit at the same level as the house, creating a seamless transition from inside to out while allowing movement naturally around the water.

Raising the pool reduced the need for excavation and the removal of large quantities of soil — lowering both the cost and environmental impact of the build. An air-source heat pump provides the heating, with basalt coping and Millboard decking completing the pool surround.

Locally sourced Dorset oak was used for the steps and panelling. The oak was cut and prepared off-site, allowed to dry, and then used vertically to clad the façade of the swimming pool, with anti-slip detailing added to the sleeper steps.

A simple design decision that worked harder — better connected to the house, lighter on the landscape and making use of materials sourced closer to home.
